Procedure Overview

Liposuction (Abdomen and Waist Areas) is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at removing excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body to improve contour and proportion.

Preparation: Prior to the procedure, patients should attend a pre-assessment appointment to evaluate their general health and discuss any medications they are taking. It's important to follow specific instructions regarding fasting before the surgery and to arrange for transportation home, as driving immediately after the procedure is not advisable.

Procedure: Performed under general or local anaesthesia, the surgeon makes small incisions in inconspicuous areas to insert a cannula (a thin tube) connected to a vacuum suction device. The cannula is used to remove targeted fat deposits from the abdomen and waist areas, sculpting the body to the desired contour. The procedure typically lasts between 1 to 3 hours, depending on the extent of fat removal.

Recovery: Post-surgery, patients may experience bruising, swelling, and numbness in the treated areas, which can last for several weeks. It's essential to begin gentle movements as advised by the healthcare provider to restore mobility and prevent complications. Strenuous activities should be avoided for at least 4 to 6 weeks to allow proper healing.
